Community Career Change Website

Project Background:

The small community was facing a number of challenges, including a lack of jobs, a high unemployment rate, and a low median income. The community-based organization wanted to create a website that would help people in the community find careers with big companies and provide affordable training courses and certifications.

Project Objectives:

The goals of the Career Building and Career Change Website project were to:

  • Create a website that is user-friendly and easy to navigate.

  • Provide information about different career paths and opportunities.

  • List of big companies that are hiring in the area.

  • Provide information about affordable training courses and certifications.

  • Promote the website to the community through a variety of channels.

Project Activities:

The project team conducted research on the needs of the community and the resources that are available. They also developed a website design and content. The project team worked with local businesses and organizations to promote the website.

Project Results:

This was approved and purchased, though unfortunately the town government cut funding before deployment and the organization was forced to close. So this project never saw the light of day.

Project Lessons Learned:

The Career Building and Career Change Website project taught the project team a number of valuable lessons. These lessons included:

  • There is a great need for resources and information about career building and career changes in small communities.

  • A website is a powerful tool that can be used to connect people with resources and information.

  • Partnerships with local businesses and organizations can help to promote a website and reach a wider audience.
